The WLLID Board sends out a big thank you to all one hundred six people (106) who participated in last nights public meeting. That size of turn-out is fantastic. It demonstrates people are interested and concerned about the water at Wasa.

There were 62 residents + 1 baby at the community hall. Forty-four (44) people viewed the online stream.

Leading the meeting off was Nasukin/Chief Don Sam of the Ktunaxa Nation who briefly spoke about Wasa’s roll in their origin story.

Next up, aquatic biologist Sara Knezevic, from Larratt, presented the packed room with findings from the water and sediment sampling done at Wasa from May to September, 2025. To watch the presentation, paste this link into your browser: https://youtu.be/QzedOjBlD0Y

After the presentation, participants heard from their neighbours in a Q&A session.

Technical questions from the meeting will be sent to Larratt and their answers posted on the website, wasalake.ca.

The Board will be collating and tabulating the information from the feedback forms. This information will be posted on the WLLID website.
