The WLLID 2025 AGM will be held on 29 October 2026 at 7pm, Wasa Community Hall.
A review of 2025 activities will be presented along with a water report and the financial statements.
Following the AGM, a vote to elect four (4) Trustee positions will be held.
Six residents have accepted nominations: Pam Schneider, Sharon Prinz, Marli Price, Pam Heaton, Penny Flagel and Kathryn Fitzgerald.
Residents welcome to attend.
On 9 September, the WLLID Board held its regular monthly meeting.
Three Trustees – Shauna, Luke and Nowell – were in attendance along with CO Lori Vandette.
Thirteen residents were also in attendance.
Penny Flagel and Geoff Green made presentations to the Board.
Mrs. Flagel introduced herself as a candidate for Area E Director in the upcoming RDEK local elections. She made a brief statement about her intentions to listen and learn from all residents.
Mr. Green read a statement criticizing the Board for a lack of transparency in undertaking the Larratt Aquatic study.
The Board has begun preparations for the upcoming Oct 29th AGM that will review the 2025 activities, present the 2025 financial statements and elect four (4) Trustees.
Nominations for Trustee will open in early October. Details available in the upcoming Buzz, on the WLLID website and in our Newsletter.
To qualify for a Trustee position, a person must be:
– a Canadian citizen
– 18 years and older
– a BC resident, at least 6 months prior to the vote
– their name must be listed on the land title of a property within the WLLID boundaries
With four open Trustee positions, there will be a new Board at WLLID who will carry on the organizations work.
The WLLID Board Chair is willing to meet with anyone interested in becoming a Trustee and answer their questions about the position and its responsibilities.
